Tricks

Matthew came home from school today saying his neck hurt. Apparently one of his friends, Kyle and another boy played a little "trick" on him and other kids today after lunch. Kyle came up to talk to Matthew and the other friend bent down behind Matthew and then Kyle pushed him so he would fall over the other boy. Matthew did fall and hurt his neck some on the ground.
I asked Matthew what he said and he tells me he just laughed it off a bit because he didn't want any more trouble.
We talked about what he could do and how he could handle it. He and Kyle have been friends for a few years now. I have suggested that Matthew talk to Kyle, one on one, and explain that he didn't appreciate the little trick. Explain that he was actually hurt and that it wasn't funny. He can also tell him that he isn't going to rat him out, but that Kyle should probably watch what he is doing before he gets in trouble. Matthew said he thought he could do that.
Here's hoping Matthew can do that and handle the situation.
