A little concern

Ricky isn't feeling his best. He has been very tired since this past weekend. He had friends over for his birthday and Cody Rupp spent the night. He seemed fine on Sunday, a little tired, but I expected that. But since then, he has been really tired. He has complained about being tired. He says when he goes to bed he is worn out and when he gets up he is just as tired as when he went to bed. It shoes a bit in his attitude, he is quieter than normal.
Last night we talked to him about track and how he doesn't seem to really want to work at getting better... at track or any other sport. We explained that he can do what he wants and if he only wants to do it to have fun and be social, that is fine with us. But Rick keeps trying to help him and he just seems disinterested.. always too tired or such. I knew better than to have this discussion as late as we did and especially with him tired. It turned into a 1.5 hour issue. He gets soooo sensitive and out of whack when he is tired. Everything is worse than it really is and he gets very emotional. We did our best to reassure him that we are not disappointed or mad at him. We want him to enjoy what he does, in whatever manner he chooses to do it, we just want to know what that is so we know what to expect.
Poor guy, he just wants everyone to be happy and he was so down on himself thinking that he can't do anything right and wondering why all the stuff is happening to him (dislocated hip, concussions, now being so tired, etc.) It is something he periodically goes through and we do what we can to help him. We try to explain that he has to make up his mind on what he wants and then take action to do it. Parenting can really suck sometimes.
